Have you ever struggled in college? Perhaps you want to better yourself and your performance as a student in school? Or, perhaps you're heading off to your first semester and you want to better learn how to be the best student. Below I share 17 ways to be the best student. . . like, ever.

17 Things To Do To Be A Good Architecture Student:


1. Go to all your classes, especially the ones that you find difficult. Don't skip class just because it's hard or boring – attend if at all possible, so you can stay on top of the material. The people who struggled the most were those who overslept and skipped classes. There is a lot of content to learn in college. Go to class!!!


2. Make sure to take notes during lectures, and review them afterwards. This will help you remember what was discussed in class and make studying easier later on.


3. Ask questions in class and during office hours to make sure you fully understand the material. Don't be afraid to ask questions – your professor wants you to succeed, so don't hesitate to get clarification if something isn't clear.


4. Work on assignments as soon as possible after they are assigned, instead of waiting until the last minute. This will help you work through problems and better comprehend difficult concepts.


5. Form study groups with your peers, as this can be a great way to get a better understanding of the material and learn from each other's perspectives. I used study groups all the time for my structures classes! This was a perfect way to divide up and review an enormous amount of class notes before midterms and finals.


6. Take advantage of tutoring services offered by your college or university if you are struggling with a certain subject or concept.


7. Utilize on-campus study spaces like libraries, student centers, and computer labs if you have difficulty focusing at home.


8. Take breaks when studying so that you don't get overwhelmed by the material. Breaks can help to refresh your mind and come back to


9. Draw inspiration from other architects and designers who have done great work in the past. Look through magazines, books, and websites - or even visit a museum to see amazing design examples.


10. Find an internship that will give you real-world experience and help you practice applying your knowledge of architecture to actual projects. This could also be a great opportunity to network with possible employers in the industry.


11. Participate in an architecture competition to showcase your design skills, get feedback from professionals, and possibly win awards that could help you stand out from other students or job applicants.


12. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in the architecture field by attending conferences and webinars, reading industry magazines and journals, or talking to experienced professionals.


13. Join a professional organization such as the American Institute of Architects (AIA) to gain access to exclusive resources and make valuable connections with architects from around the world.


14. Develop your network by attending events in your local area, such as meet-ups and workshops. This is an excellent way to meet other architects, exchange ideas and collaborate on projects.


15. Stay organized and motivated by setting goals for yourself and tracking your progress over time. This will help you keep up with your studies and succeed in architecture school.


16. Nourish yourself - Eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, and keep your stress levels in check. All of these things will help you stay alert, productive and creative during the course of your studies.
